From my previous post, my group and I had refined our ideas. We had a clearer vision of what we want to show in our video and how we wanted to do it.

The main idea of how the video is going to be presented is that, it will focus more on visuals and verbal content than text/words. We took the challenge to portray our message strongly visually. There will not be many narrations going on as we wanted to "show" more than "tell".

Now, the idea. This is the more refined and detailed version.

The video starts with the main character, a girl, walking towards a box. The box and the girl's arms are scar-ed. The scars represent what she has been through. The abuse, the pain, the struggle she has went through. She crouches down in a box and that shows how she feels trapped in life, not actually living a normal human life. She is seen on the verge of tears as she remembers the flashbacks of her getting abused, being bullied, being hit. She was bullied my her own classmates and they say mean things about her not giving a damn about her feelings. 2 "shadows" are constantly seen whispering into her classmate's ears. She understands that they are the cause of her depressing life. She then opens her eyes realising she had enough. It's time to get it over and done with.

She takes out her phone and calls her "bullies". She asks her bullies to meet her somewhere as she wants to end things. Next, her bullies are seen walking towards her in the next scene. Behind her are shadows. The "shadows" are her. What she went through. And her bullies, are shown as shadows in the beginning as she does not who they are yet, meaning their identities are still unidentified. The two abusers played by two humans are a representation of two subjects. Society and Stereotype.

The two "bullies" then asks her why did she call them to meet. Even though she has always been scared of them, the only thing different this time when she confronts them, she is not afraid of them anymore. She is ready to end things.

She then preaches about how she is not going to let them take over her life anymore and that she is done being a "toy". She is done being bullied, self cautious of what she does and how she looks. She says that they have taken everything from her...Her dream, her sanity, her life. It is time to take it back. As she preaches, her shadows disappear one by one and in the end, all her shadows are all gone. She finally learnt to be free. In the end, she demands to know who her bullies are, who are behind those whispers. Her bullies are then revealed to be her own classmates/friends whom she thought had always had her back. She then realised who they are and she did not back down, instead she got even more motivated to fight back. She tells them that she is stronger, tougher than ever. Eventually, she bids them goodbye as she is ready to let go of the things and the people that do nothing but bring her down. Because of her words, the bullies/shadow starts to disappear as they no longer has a place in her life. Once they disappear, she smiles knowing she is finally free and finally back to who she was. Who she is meant to be.

Thank you.
